My favorite place in Tokyo by far. A rainy day, perfect for an Fujifilm X-pro 2 and 35mm WR lens!
So decided to publish some photographs. More to come 🙂
I was asked “what do you think of cherry blossom in Japan?”.Truth is, when you live in Japan long enough, you may not be surprised anymore by the beauty of Sakura, but they don’t lose their beauty nonetheless. Only thing I don’t like that much is “Hanami” where people seat under the cherry trees. In theory it is the best thing ever. In reality, the alcohol takes over and the divine scent of the cherry flowers all but disappears…
I really like the angle, the purple across the painting and the bag (purely coincidental!). Not to mention the model 😉 First shot was the good one, I didn’t want to pose that photograph in order to retain the feeling of snapshot that I really like in street photography. This might be my favorite photograph so far this year (among those I have taken, obviously).
It’s actually my first time in Tsukiji, after 9 years in Japan. Got extra lucky and where able to have fantastic sushi in a renowned place. The stuff the chef is broiling is fish semen. Yep, yummy! But it is actually pretty good!
The chef also had a very distinctive way to prepare the “nigiri”, quite artistic in fact, as you can perhaps imagine from the second photograph.
